One of the prime benefits of recording at Protection Island is the ability to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and commit some time to getting into a creative headspace for writing and recording. There are some simple onsite guest accommodations for you to use while working on projects here so you don’t have to worry about commuting or paying for costly hotels. The accommodations are included at no extra charge.
There is the cozy little cottage with a kitchenette, bunk room w/tv and dvd player/movies, wifi, and a washroom with shower. It sleeps 3 or so comfortably, and more a little more tightly.
There is also another space attached to the studio building to hang out in and it sleeps a few more.
The kitchenette should have most of what you need for cooking including utensils, dishes, pots, pans, a hot plate, toaster over, mini fridge and microwave. There’s a bbq on the patio beside the cottage as well.
We also have chickens on the property some fresh eggs are never far away.
Although it feels like we are in the country, we are really only 7 minutes away from groceries, starbucks, subway, 7-11 and mcd’s.
Even closer is a corner store and a tim horton’s (in an esso station).
15 minutes gets you really good sushi, excellent vietnamese, some quality italian, espresso, local foodie joint and much more.
There are lots of trails and parks for walking, running and riding within minutes of the studio. There are also 3 lakes within 15 minutes
drive for a great summer swim or kayak/canoe (we have both) as well as the Alouette River and it’s swimming holes.
